Govt blocks Qatar Airways bid for more Australian flights
Jul 20, 2023, 06:41 AMI am not so sure about OOL. Has a FSC ever regularly serviced the Gold Coast? It seems to be the domain of a host of LCC and even they seemingly can't get it too work consistently when you look towards 2 of the biggest ones in TR and JQ and their upcoming withdrawal.Additionally, I just don't thi...

Virgin Australia, United Airlines partnership: all you need to know
Mar 03, 2022, 07:36 PMI’ll admit I have not stepped on a UA flight for many years but I just can’t get excited about this and very disappointed that the JV with Delta and Virgin has come to an endI have always enjoyed Delta and have had many domestic flights with them in the US. All I’ve seen a...

Virgin Australia rules out the return of the Boeing 777
Sep 27, 2021, 02:57 PMI agree QFP1 - lots of talk about pent up demand but I too see it being a very short spike (your AU-NZ bubble example is a good one) with many other things that need to fall into place to make it sustainable. I still can't see international travel rebounding more confidently in Australia till lat...

VA Business Class
Jan 28, 2021, 10:03 PMI’ve done 3 trips in 4 weeks with VA from BNE to CNS twice and once to TSV. My first trips since Feb last year.Things have changed and COVID is being used as an excuse I feel, for below average service and woeful food offering both onboard and in the lounge. It all feels very down market.On...

Velocity: Are you taking the emergency exit yet?
Oct 28, 2020, 10:52 AMNot exiting yet but I am watching carefully. I've got a flight to CNS with them at Christmas and to be honest, had it not been a travel bank credit, I probably would have flown QF - the costs were comparable. I will however use up my VFF points in rapid succession early next year and have started...

Virgin Australia complimentary drink policy change
Jan 08, 2020, 03:51 PMI am typically a fan of Virgin but I travelled CNS-BNE last week with VA in Business Class and the meal they served up was terrible - overcooked and dry lamb pide - it bordered on uneatable. Prior to this, I'd never had a bad meal on VA in J. Hopefully not a sign of things to come?
